Small Details, Big Impact

Huntington Beach

This Huntington Beach property purchased 25 years ago features an original 1970s patio home design.

The owner was happy with her existing travertine flooring throughout and loved the aesthetics of Shaker-style kitchens. She wanted to eliminate the drop ceiling in the kitchen and create “mega storage” with easy-to-use cabinets for her and her favorite doggy roommate, Sophie.

Her goal: a fresh Shaker kitchen look without being white and a makeover of the entry.

Initially, the entrance into the home was dark and cramped, which made it difficult to find things. The entryway is now accompanied by sleek custom cabinetry. We installed drawered, tall cabinets for all her dog supplies, additional household storage, and even a coat closet.

To achieve her goals in the kitchen, we incorporated a subway tile backsplash and “real” quartzite counters to echo her home’s traditional color palette.

We diligently designed the new kitchen to match the style she loves from the rest of her house, keeping the existing flooring that now beautifully compliments the new space.

Theresa helped me create a beautiful, very functional kitchen on a budget. She gathered my wish list and incorporated every one of them into her design. She designed a few different layout options that allowed me to choose what was best for functionality needs and my budget.

She made several design suggestions I would have never thought of—but am so glad she did! She really has an eye for detail.

Theresa did an incredible job of coordinating contractors and keeping them on schedule. She met with them collectively to ensure they communicated and worked together well and then was in constant communication with them to ensure they met their target dates and keep the entire project right on schedule.

Remodel projects often become stressful due to delays, surprise added costs, or issues with contractors. Theresa made the entire experience fun!

Thank you so much for helping me create my dream kitchen!
