Two Tone

Laguna Niguel

This beautiful kitchen belongs to a delightful couple that recently moved to California from the East Coast.

They wanted an open kitchen floor plan that would require no structural work to achieve their goals. They envisioned an island, more storage, and additional functionality for their kitchen.

The home is very traditional, with original paver flooring and warm conventional furniture. The couple loved white but feared it would fight with their furnishings.

Instead of the classic all-white Shaker kitchen cabinets, we chose to do white upper cabinets, backsplash, and counters to “whitewash” the upper half of the kitchen. Then we decided on darker cabinets for lower cabinetry to complement their furniture and the future new addition of a dog and practicality.

The incredible result is the kitchen you see in these photos!
